Evaluations of impairment, causation, and workability should be performed by unbiased physicians who are knowledgeable, skilled, and experienced in the use of the AMA Guides.
Independent Medical Evaluations
An independent medical evaluation (IME) is an assessment by a physician not involved in the care of that individual. They are typically performed when there is, for example, a workers’ compensation, personal injury, automobile casualty, or disability claim.
All impairment assessments should be reviewed to assess the probable accuracy of the rating. Brigham and Associates, Inc. has over two decades of expertise in assuring accurate ratings. (Please note that we are unable to accept self-referrals.)
ImpairmentCheck™ provides 24/7 expert guidance on impairment ratings based on the AMA Guides to the Evaluation of Permanent Impairment, Fourth, Fifth, and Sixth Editions. This is now available as an integration with ODG by MCG.
